Relapse Prevention
Staying aware of situations that can trigger addictive behavior is essential in preventing drug and alcohol relapse. By becoming aware of environmental and internal triggers, clients take control of how to cope with these situations and redirect their thinking.
Boundaries
Setting boundaries can be essential in recovery to become physically, emotionally and spiritually healthy. By recognizing the need to set and enforce limits, clients learn how to protect their self-esteem, maintain self-respect and become empowered within themselves.
Toxic Relationships
Many people develop toxic relationships during the lifestyle of active addiction. We teach clients how to take responsibility as a healthy person, look at the situation honestly and recognize the obsessive and compulsive tendencies associated with a toxic relationship.
Anger Management
Anger can be a highly destructive emotion for those who are in recovery from addiction as it can lead to relapse. We show clients how to self-monitor and shift to a thinking and problem-solving mode rather than a reactive mode where anger is triggered.
Cross-Addiction
It is common for addicts to give up one substance and then compulsively turn to another additive activity, or substance to feel better. By recognizing the thoughts and emotions that cause these behaviors, our therapists and staff help clients process and deal with them in a healthy way.
12 Step Recovery Meetings
Twelve-step programs are outside support groups designed to treat people battling a variety of destructive behaviors, including substance abuse disorders. We provide transportation and support to those who would like to attend these meetings so that they may establish an outside support source of men and women who share experiences, strength and hope with one another in overcoming addiction.
Life Skills
During active addiction, the addict often loses touch with basic daily responsibilities and their confidence in their ability to do so. We teach clients how to create a daily routine, practice basic hygiene, eat a healthy and balanced diet, complete house chores, as well as coaching on how to find a stable residency and budget finances.
Art Therapy
Art allows the addict to express their feelings in a creative, healthy and productive way. We offer painting, journaling, coloring, drawing, music as well as other fun activities for clients to enjoy.
