What is Medication-Assisted Treatment?

 

Medication-Assisted Treatment is the application of FDA-Approved medications combined with behavioral therapies to treat addiction and substance abuse.

 

Studies across the world have shown that in certain cases, utilizing medication-assisted treatment can dramatically lower the mortality rate of addiction and save lives.

 

 

Who is Medication-Assisted Treatment For?

 

Medication-Assisted Treatment is not the best approach in all circumstances.  Where MAT really shows it's effectiveness is in the following situations:

 

  • Heroin/Opioid Addiction

  • Chronic Cases of Relapse (Relapse Prone)

  • Other Treatments Have Not Worked

MAT requires the presence of a medical doctor.  Being physician owned and operated, Coastal Addiction Center is able to provide the absolute highest level of care to every client, especially for MAT clients.  Our facility has a maximum of six residents at all time.  Our specialty is offering extremely personalized care and treatment to each and every individual.
